Strategic Partnership with UnternehmerTUM: PHW Group Further Strengthens Its Commitment to Startup Power

Since January 2026, PHW Group has been a new strategic partner of UnternehmerTUM GmbH. UnternehmerTUM is the Center for Innovation and Business Creation at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Founded in 2002 by entrepreneur Susanne Klatten, it is now one of Europe’s largest startup centers.
As a non-profit platform, UnternehmerTUM enables targeted collaboration between industry and startups across various sectors. As a new strategic partner, PHW Group contributes its many years of experience across integrated food value chains.
“The partnership with UnternehmerTUM marks another strategic milestone for the future direction of our New Business division. In an increasingly connected innovation landscape, collaboration with startups is becoming a decisive competitive advantage. It provides us with access to innovative business models, forward-looking technologies, and the agility that established companies need for sustainable transformation. Through our partnership with UnternehmerTUM, we aim to create synergies across all three of our business segments: poultry, alternative proteins, and health,” explains Dr. Arne Vossmann, Head of Business Development at PHW Group.
The Lower Saxony-based family business has been engaged as a corporate partner of the innovation center StartLife in Wageningen (Netherlands) since 2018 and is also one of the founding members of Seedhouse Beteiligungsgesellschaft GmbH, an incubator for startups in the agriculture and food sectors based in Osnabrück.
“With PHW Group, we are gaining a strong strategic partner for the development and scaling of new, functional ingredients. Their participation in the New Ingredients Accelerator Track underlines our shared goal of systematically supporting innovation-driven startups from idea to market readiness and connecting them with industry as early as possible,” adds Dr. Roman Bosl Werner, Managing Director of the TUM Venture Lab Food/Agro/BioTech.
At the start of the new partnership, PHW Group is directly participating in the Accelerator Track for New Ingredients. The program supports promising startups in scaling, industrializing, and bringing novel ingredients to market.
The New Ingredients Accelerator Track is embedded in UnternehmerTUM’s AgriFood Hub, a leading platform for innovation, collaboration, and venture creation in the agriculture and food sector. The Hub connects founding teams, startups, research institutions, investors, and established companies along the entire food and agriculture value chain.
