What is EIT Manufacturing?
EIT Manufacturing is a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) co-funded by the European Union. Its mission is to drive competitiveness and sustainability in European manufacturing by supporting start-ups, university spinoffs, and innovators working on critical challenges within the industry.
Focusing on pioneering solutions for Europe’s industrial landscape, EIT Manufacturing invests in transformative technologies that address key manufacturing needs, including:
Automation and Digitalisation – Solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Energy Transition – Innovations to promote sustainability and reduce the carbon footprint of manufacturing.
Critical Components – Advanced technologies that are essential for European industrial sovereignty.
The organization plays a vital role in ensuring that Europe remains at the forefront of industrial innovation, bridging the gap between research, business, and societal impact.
The Venture Building Programme 2025
One of EIT Manufacturing’s flagship initiatives is the Venture Building Programme, designed for early-stage industrial B2B start-ups and university spinoffs (under three years old) with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 or higher. The programme focuses on validating and accelerating ideas with high potential in manufacturing.
Key Benefits of the Programme:
A 3-month online venture building programme tailored to industry start-ups;
Expert-led workshops and mentoring to boost market and investment readiness;
In person networking and pitching events, including mentor matchmaking;
Curated introductions to potential corporate customers or investors;
Visibility and international publicity;
Fast-track to investment of EUR 100,000.00 on average per start-up.
