How would you describe your business idea to a potential investor?
requestee is the new MyHammer for ethical hacking. We are an online B2B marketplace that connects SMEs with vetted pentesting companies in a simple and fast way. Together with our clients we define the requirements and get them a list of hacking experts that are available and within their budget.
What problem do you want to solve, what is your goal?
Normally, buying a pentest is a real pain. Buyers don’t know what they need, getting offers is time-consuming and there is always a hint of distrust in the first deal. With requestee buying pentests is as easy as ordering a pizza. The client only needs to fill in a RFQ for the pentest, upload it in our platform and start getting offers from hackers that are trusted and certified by us.
How did you come up with your idea/concept?
One of the co-founders, worked in strategic purchasing within the automotive industry. After talking to many of his colleagues, who were responsible of buying pentest for the apps of the company, he realized how difficult it was to get and compare offers from trusted pentesters. It is a task that takes a great amount of time and effort. And also, it is hard to know what to buy and whom to trust.
What is your business model?
Our business model is pretty straight-forward. Like many marketplaces we take a commission on each transaction.
What is ethical hacking and why do you need it?
Ethical Hacking, sometimes called a Pentest, is an act of intruding into the system to find out threats, vulnerabilities in those systems which a malicious attacker may find and exploit causing loss of data, financial loss or other major damages. Why do companies need it? Well, on average 60% of SMEs go out of business within 6 months of a cyberattack. But companies that uncover a data breach after one month can save on average more than $1 M. Especially for companies that work with high sensitive data and have business critical applications, it is crucial to take these tests to stay secure.
