VIEZO - Generating Electricity From Vibrations

Viezo

How would you describe your business idea to a potential investor?

Viezo is developing a device capable of generating electricity from vibrations. Goal of it is to power the wireless IoT sensors, therefore prolonging their lifetime at least twice, reducing costs by approximately 40% and getting rid of toxic batteries.

What problem do you want to solve, what is your goal?

Wireless IoT sensors are powered using batteries and have a limited lifetime of ±3 years. After that period they have to be changed manually and it costs a lot. After 9–12 years the whole solution becomes extremely expensive.

1. Hardly predictable and limited wireless IoT sensors battery lifetime, ±3 years

2. Every three years batteries have to be changed manually

3. Cost of one sensor battery change- ±100€ — 150€

How did you come up with your idea/concept?

In the beginning, the idea was to harvest energy from the rainfall, however after a number of tests and calculations we realised that it is yet way too inefficient to commercialise, so we had to pivot. And we pivoted to power the wireless sensors now.

What is your business model?

We work with the B2B companies, manufacturers and integrators of wireless IoT sensors. As a hardware company, our business model is primitive- we have our prime cost, add the margin and we get the sales price. Orders are prepaid.

Why did you decide to work with XPRENEURS?

Xpreneurs for us, is a terrific way for many introductions in the DACH region. We look forward to extend our network there, and hopefully set up our branch in Munich very soon. We would need their help with settling there as well.

You can get more information about VIEZO on their website or follow them on LinkedIn.
